Meetings, Etc.

This morning, I met with Probate Judge Don Davis. Then, after work at the office, I attended an afternoon meeting of the Mobile County Consortium Review Committee, of which I am a member. I helped secure funding for Chickasaw. I also stood for the interests of member municipalities in general. This evening, I attended a very informative meeting of the Chickasaw Historic Society. In between all the meetings and work, I talked with the Chickasaw Housing Authority's executive director about grant funding. I also talked with the mayor and a fellow Council member.

District Office Visit

I went to Congressman Jo Bonner's district office today to pick up the city's American flags for use at various city facilities. It is my understanding that the flags flew over our nation's Capitol building. On my way there, I ran into the congressman. We chatted for a few minutes. He is always gracious and helpful.

City Hall Work

I spent part of the evening reviewing financial data at City Hall. I am pleased to report that the city's cash flow situation has improved a bit. I also sent e-messages to an official from a neighboring city and to a representative of ADECA.

Earlier in the day, I met with staff members of the Volunteer Lawyers Program regarding some new consumer law initiatives.
